This vehicle, drawn by two horses, delivered goods to Makara twice a week Tuesdays and Fridays. They served the farmers in the Makara Valley and also went to the beach and around the coast to the fishermen - an Italian group living there at the turn of the century. A colourful Frenchman also lived at Makara by the name of French Louis.
